Helping People Biblically

Helping People Biblically is a focused, practical training seminar on how to enter someone’s world, understand his or her struggles biblically, and bring basic Christ-centered hope and help. The training is open to all believers—laypeople not just leaders—who want to help their fellow believers handle life’s issues.

DATE: August 10-11, 2018

COST: $5.00 per person (payable to Faith Community Church the day of the seminar)

LOCATION: Grace Evangelical Free Church

SCHEDULE: Friday, 6:30-8:15pm | Saturday, 9am -Noon

CHILDCARE: Childcare will be provided for children up to 5th grade.  

 

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

 

Robert-JonesDr. Robert Jones is a professor of Biblical Counseling at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Prior to teaching at Southern, he served for nineteen years as a lead pastor in WV and then twelve years as a professor at Southeastern Seminary and a pastor of biblical counseling in Raleigh, NC. Bob graduated from The King’s College, Trinity
Evangelical Divinity School (M.Div.), Westminster Theological Seminary (D.Min., Pastoral Counseling), and the University of South Africa (D.Theol., Systematic Theology).

Along with his seminary and church ministries, Bob is a Fellow with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors, an adjunct professor at Faith Bible Seminary and Westminster Theological Seminary, a founding member of the Biblical Counseling Coalition, a Certified Christian Conciliator; and ministers frequently in Brazil. He has written two books (Uprooting Anger and Pursuing Peace), nine minibooks, and numerous book chapters, journal articles, and book reviews on counseling and pastoral ministry.

Bob and Lauren, his wife of thirty-five years, have two adult sons, a daughter-in-law, and two granddaughters. They are active members of Third Avenue Baptist Church in Louisville and serve in the church’s counseling ministry.
